Not just a steel marketplace and conferences on innovation and sustainability. At this eighth edition of Made in Steel, there will also be space for design and aesthetics united with communicative functionality and power.

For the seventh time, the Made in Steel Awards are going to be assigned to exhibitors who will have demonstrated, using their stands, the ability to transmit their message with originality and clarity as well as present their products and services in an efficient and innovative way. All these aspects make Made in Steel unique in the panorama of events dedicated to the industrial world and which distinguishes it from other shows thanks to the care dedicated to the stand designs and the entire exhibition area.

The awards have been created by the internationally renowned artist Maria Cristina Carlini: they are three works of art from her 2014 series called “Alberi” (which means “Trees”), made in iron, stoneware and gold dust.   The awarding ceremony will be held during the “Steel dinner” on Wednesday 15May from 8:00pm onwards.

THE ARTIST – After having approached the artistic trend “New ceramics” in the 70s in California, Maria Cristina Carlini began to experiment with stoneware, iron, corten steel, wood and resin. Her artistic pathway includes personal and collective art exhibitions in many public and private international arenas.   Her monumental sculptures are situated permanently in three continents – Europe, America and Asia and they make up part of private collections in Italy and abroad. During Expo 2015, her monumental sculpture “La nuova città che sale”, presented by Philippe Daverio, has been installed permanently in the Fiera Milano Rho exhibition centre.
