Since 2005 Made in Steel has grown exponentially in terms of both exhibitors and attendance. As a result, in 2013 the tradeshow moved from its original venue in Brescia to Milan (fieramilanocity) and then in 2015 to Milan’s Rho site (fieramilano) in concomitance with its drive to go international.
Made in Steel 2015 – a three-day event for the Italian and international steel industry – saw a 16% growth in exhibition space over 2013, a 25% increase in forecast revenue, a 5% rise in company attendance and a sharp rise of almost 13,000 more visitors (+17%). International visitors also came in large numbers – from some 68 countries, accounting for 22% of total attendance.
The Made in Steel 2015 Business Intelligence & Customer Satisfaction Analysis also showed excellent satisfaction rates among exhibitors (88% of the sample) and visitors (81% of the sample). Exhibitors also thought the tradeshow had improved compared to previous editions (62% of the sample) and were positive about the international contacts coming out of the three days (more than half the sample). 66% of the survey sample considered the presence of international operators a highly positive feature.
«If economic expectations are determinants in triggering a turnaround of the Economy – commented Made in Steel CEO, Emanuele Morandi – then the Conference & Exhibition just ended may well mark the dividing line between a ‘before’ – characterised by negative indicators for the European steel industry – and an ‘after’ which, although not yet a real recovery, does mark a greater awareness of the need to kick start the steel sector and Italy’s ability to work as a system».
KEY PLAYERS working with US at the previous tradeshow editions:
Many of the Italian steel industries historic figures have attended the last six editions of Made in Steel, participating actively in the ongoing debate. They include, to mention just a few: Luigi Lucchini, Nicola Amenduni, Emilio Riva, Giovanni Arvedi, Gianpietro Benedetti, Steno Marcegaglia, Emma e Antonio Marcegaglia, Giuseppe Pasini, Antonio Gozzi, Alessandro Trivillin and Giuseppe Manni.
Made in Steel has also welcomed many international guests from the steel industry, public institutions and the academic and research world. This is because we make a point of focusing on innovation and knowledge sharing, which is just the sort of cross-fertilisation that triggers new ideas and pushes back horizons.
That’s why over the years we’ve involved people like Jeremy Rifkin, Marco Vitale, Giacomo Vaciago, Marco Fortis, Riccardo Monti, Dipak Pant and mountaineer Simone Moro.
