The Port of Ravenna is a multipurpose port and an intermodal platform offering high value-added logistics services, equipped with port terminals with direct connections to the road and motorway network and to the national railway network. The Port of Ravenna is the only port in Emilia-Romagna Region. Due to its strategic geographic position it serves Northern Italy and Central Europe and is a key port for the Eastern Mediterranean and Black Sea markets. It also plays an important role in trade with markets in the Middle East and Far East. Ravenna is a manufacturing, logistics, and intermodal hub of excellence for all the industrial and commercial activities of the steel production chain. It also hosts Europe's largest service center for the automated finishing, cutting, and packaging of coils and sheet metal. So, Ravenna is the leading port in Italy for steel products, in particular coils: they arrive daily at the port and are processed into finished products at production plants. Indeed, the port is equipped with the most advanced facilities and manufacturing technologies for chemical pickling, cold rolling, static annealing, galvanising, and pre-painting of steel coils, as well as a service center for flattening and cutting carbon steel coils. It is also the main port of entry for raw materials for industries in the Po Valley and has excellent intermodal connections with the manufacturing and logistics systems of northern Italy and central Europe.
