Today, the steel industry is probably going through the deepest and fastest transformation in decades. Globalization has changed the competitive balance, the rise of new global producers has altered market dynamics, sustainability has become an industrial priority as well as an environmental one, and energy has shifted from a simple production factor to a strategic variable. And in the background, innovation, new technologies, geopolitical tensions and new customer expectations are all at play.

To better understand what is happening, in the first episode of the podcast leading up to the next edition of Made in Steel, the siderweb editorial team brought together three guests to outline the direction of these changes: Giuliano Noci (Politecnico di Milano), Gianfranco Tosini (siderweb) and Amedeo Trielli (Duferco Commerciale and I.Metals).
