Milan, 9 September 2026 – Made in Steel 2027 will bring the global debate on the future of the steel supply chain to Fiera Milano. For its 2027 edition, the event organised by siderweb alongside with Fiera Milano is strengthening its international dimension through two exclusive partnerships with Kallanish and SMR - Steel & Metals Market Research. The aim is to further expand the event’s content offering a global perspective to the program, covering markets, trade dynamics and the transformations reshaping the steel industry.
“Made in Steel aims to become an increasingly important meeting place where the international steel supply chain can come together and exchange views,” says Paolo Morandi, CEO of Made in Steel and siderweb. “The partnerships with Kallanish and SMR are fully aligned with this goal: bringing international expertise, analysis and perspectives to Milan, while creating opportunities for dialogue that can help industry professionals navigate an increasingly interconnected and complex market.”
“The European steel industry,” he adds, “is undergoing a profound transformation in which competitiveness, trade, energy, decarbonisation and geopolitics are inseparable issues. Made in Steel aims to provide a space where these dimensions can be addressed together, bringing around the same table those who produce, process and use steel, those who analyse market scenarios and those who shape the rules.”
A new series of international market sessions, organised by Kallanish, will focus on three key areas shaping the steel industry: Global Steel Market Outlook, Trade & Competitiveness and The Future of Steelmaking. Attendees can join one, two or all three modules, spanning global market developments, the changing trade and regulatory environment, and the future of steel production, from raw materials to AI and digitalisation.
SMR - Steel & Metals Market Research is a company specialising in market analysis for the stainless and specialty steel sectors and led by Markus Moll. It will organize a half-day conference dedicated to the global markets for carbon- and alloy engineering steels, bearing steels, free-cutting steels and tool steels. The program will provide insights into global supply structure, trade flows and market volumes, demand by end-use segment including a 10-year forecast, as well as key market drivers and inhibitors. A global production cost comparison and an assessment of geopolitical trends and their impact on the engineering steel industry will complete the program.
The new international partnerships will complement Made in Steel’s already extensive conference programme, curated by siderweb. Entrepreneurs, executives, experts and representatives of leading industry associations will be invited to discuss the issues shaping the future of the Italian and European steel industries. Participants will also include representatives of Assofermet, Eurofer, Eurometal and Federacciai, as well as representatives of Italian and European institutions.
New formats for dialogue and in-depth discussion
The evolution of the program will also extend to the style and production of content. Made in Steel 2027 will go beyond the traditional conference format: among the new features is a live video-podcast studio, conceived as an open space for meeting industry professionals and as a venue for producing content throughout the event.
The siderweb editorial team will moderate an ongoing dialogue with representatives of the Italian and international steel supply chain, gathering insights, analysis and perspectives directly from the key players attending Made in Steel. siderweb will also continue producing its existing podcast series, strengthening the connection between the physical and the digital experience of the event.
One of the new features for 2027 will be the arrival at Fiera Milano of The Green Steel Challenge, the podcast produced by The Willy Korf Foundation and Kallanish Commodities, which will be conducting live recordings at the event.
A new dimension for Made in Steel
Made in Steel 2027 will increasingly be the place where the steel supply chain looks to the world to understand where the industry is heading and identify the next direction to take.
The partnerships with Kallanish and SMR are part of the broader growth strategy for the event. The twelfth edition of Made in Steel, taking place on 11, 12 and 13 May 2027 at Fiera Milano, will feature a renewed layout and expanded exhibition space across Halls 8, 12 and 16, designed to accommodate an increasing number of companies and foster visibility, networking and business opportunities throughout the steel supply chain.
Following the growth recorded at the 2025 edition, which attracted more than 19,000 attendees and nearly 400 companies from around the world, Made in Steel is looking ahead to 2027 with the goal of further consolidating its role as a European platform for dialogue, innovation and development in the steel industry.
