Made in Steel is more than just an event: it is a platform for relationships and networking, a benchmark for innovation and the future of steel. This is where key players in the supply chain meet, products and new solutions are presented, and international speakers discuss the most pressing industry topics.

As per tradition, on the evening of the second day, during the Steel Dinner, the Made in Steel Awards ceremony takes place—an opportunity to recognize exhibitors who can transform their booth into an engaging and valuable experience for industry professionals.

For 2025, the competition categories remain the same:

  • Best Communication Stand: awarded to the exhibitor who effectively communicates their message through the booth design.
  • Most Friendly Stand: recognizing the most welcoming and inviting booth.
  • Honourable Mention for Sustainability: the only self-nominated category, rewarding exhibitors who prioritize sustainability and circular economy values in their exhibition space.

The winners of this edition will be selected by three experts: Giorgio Guidi, Artistic Director of Made in Steel; Marco Citterio, former Managing Director Brixia Expo - Fiera di Brescia; Federica Barletta, Director of the Ncontemporary art Gallery.

HONOURABLE MENTION FOR SUSTAINABILITY
Introduced in 2023 alongside the launch of the event’s ISO 20121 certification process for sustainable event planning and management, this category highlights Made in Steel’s commitment to sustainability. The award will be given to the booth that best embodies the principles of environmental impact reduction and circular economy.

The jury will assess:

  • The choice of materials, favouring recycled and recyclable ones.
  • The reuse of materials previously used in other exhibitions.
  • The overall visitor experience from a sustainability perspective.

To participate, exhibitors must submit their application by Friday, April 11, by sending an email to marketing@madeinsteel.it attaching:

  • An abstract (max 4,000 characters, including spaces) in PDF format, describing the booth and sustainability-related choices.
  • Any certifications related to the materials used.
  • At least three graphic files or renderings of the booth setup.

AN AWARD WITH STRONG SYMBOLIC VALUE
The awards for this edition, sponsored by BLM Group, are designed by artist Ruth Beraha and are inspired by the ouroboros, the ancient symbol of a snake swallowing its tail. An emblem of transformation and rebirth, the ouroboros represents the continuous cycle of matter—a concept perfectly embodied by steel, which is 100% recyclable.

"For the 2025 Made in Steel Award, I chose to reinterpret the ancient iconography of the ouroboros, the snake biting its tail, a symbol of cyclicity and eternal becoming" - says the artist. "Like its sinuous coils, steel can be elegantly shaped, revealing its versatility and malleability, while maintaining its seemingly cold and rigid nature. The award celebrates the beauty of steel and its infinite potential.”

THE ARTIST
Ruth Beraha was born in Milan in 1986. Her first solo exhibition in an Italian institution was held in 2019 at the Museo della Città di Livorno, curated by Paola Tognon. Since 2019, she has exhibited at MAMbo Bologna, Macro Rome, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in Turin, Ncontemporary Milan, Triennale Milano, Pirelli Hangar Bicocca, and Mimosa House London. In 2020, she received the New York Prize, selected by Cecilia Alemani and Stella Bottai. In 2022, her work was acquired and exhibited by GAMeC, Bergamo, and in 2023, she won the CONAI Prize with her artwork "La storia infinita", displayed at MAXXI Rome. Recently, Ruth Beraha’s works were included in the ninth edition of the Biennale Gherdëina, curated by Lorenzo Giusti, and in 2024, she was the protagonist of the I nuovi mostri project for Fondazione Trussardi and Gucci Prospettive: Italiane Ancora.
